Subject: [isworld] Editor of JAIS - Call For Nominations

From: Guy Fitzgerald, VP Publications, AIS

The term of Kalle Lyytinen as Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of the Journal of
the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) expires in June, 2010.
JAIS is the flagship research journal of the AIS and publishes the
highest quality scholarship in the field of information systems. Its
latest impact factor was 1.836 (first time assessed). JAIS is inclusive
in scope and covers all aspects of Information Systems and Information
Technology. The Journal publishes rigorously developed and forward
looking conceptual and empirical contributions. The Journal encourages
multidisciplinary and non-traditional approaches.

A Committee will be appointed, according to the By-Laws of AIS, to
conduct a search for a new EIC and a single nominee will be proposed by
this committee to the AIS Council.

All AIS members are invited to nominate candidate(s). Qualifications
for the EIC position include:
*	demonstrated record of research in the field
*	previous editorial experience at senior editor level in a
top-level journal
*	support for the diversity of topics in the IS field
*	dedication and enthusiasm for JAIS and for continuing to shape
it as a top level scholarly outlet for bold research in the IS field
*	vision of the role of scholarly publications in the electronic
age
*	ability to effectively and efficiently manage the editorial
process and electronic journal publishing and marketing
*	commitment to EIC workload, and
*	support from the candidate's institution.

Please submit nominations with a brief statement of the candidate's
qualifications to me by Friday 4th December 2009. Full resumes will be
requested in a second round from a short list of candidates. The
Committee reserves the right to seek additional nominations after this
date if necessary.

Nominations should be sent by e-mail to Guy Fitzgerald at
guy.fitzgerald at brunel.ac.uk.

Further information about the journal can be obtained on the journal's
home page: http://jais.isworld.org.
