http://www.theorsociety.com/

Papers are invited on any aspect of operational research.

Titles and abstracts may now be submitted via the OR52 pages on the
Society’s website, www.theorsociety.com

More than 25 streams have been put in place. There is a stream focusing
on the application of OR models and methods in Information Systems and
Knowledge Management. Prospective authors are very welcome to discuss
proposals for papers with the stream organiser in advance of submission.

INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT STREAM
The objective of this stream is to enhance the understanding of
Information Systems with respect to model driven development and
operation of IT services, management of IT resources and knowledge, and
evaluation, impact, and economics of IT related to business, social and
technological phenomena. The field of Information Systems has acquired a
critical relevance to the understanding of the nature and the
development of contemporary organisations. In the last decades we have
seen an ever increasing complexity of systems and processes, increased
regulation and standardisation efforts coupled with a steady inflow of
models, frameworks and tools from Operations Research in particular for
decision support and controlling. However, their usage and successful
application to solve problems at different stages of systems’ lifecycles
in organisations and society remains a challenge. Diverse factors in
particular related to intangible bases make it difficult to assess and
control levels of impact. The purpose of this stream is to bring
together diverse perspectives on Information Systems and to serve as a
forum enabling knowledge exchange between academics and practitioners
working in the overlapping fields of Information Systems, Knowledge
Management and Operations Research.
