past few years we have experienced growth in the number of students and
currently we have over 1,100 undergraduate students in ACIS, and a
relatively small number of postgraduate students. For more information
about our courses and the department see www.acis.canterbury.ac.nz

The University is situated in Christchurch, which is the largest city in
the South Island of New Zealand. It is a city with excellent
facilities and a relaxed lifestyle. Christchurch is near the sea and
the Southern Alps, where some of New Zealand's finest ski-fields are
found. The quality of life is high, and at a reasonable cost.

Christchurch has a growing economy, with considerable strength in the IT
sector.
