BPMN 2010 - 2nd International Workshop on BPMN

October 13-14, 2010, Hasso Plattner Institute, Potsdam, Germany

3rd Call for Papers

www.bpmn2010.org
--------------------------------------------------------

The workshop provides a forum for academics and practitioners
that share an interest in business process modeling using the
Business Process Modeling Notation. Business Process Modeling
Notation (BPMN) experiences huge uptake in both academia and
industry. It is seen by many as the de-facto standard for
business process modeling. It has become very popular with
business analysts, tool vendors, practitioners, and end users.
BPMN promises to bridge business and IT and brings process
design and implemented closer together.

To bring this expressive process language to its full
potential, challenging research questions have to be tackled.
Papers on ongoing and completed research, as well as reports
on practical applications and empirical findings are invited.
Studies on the transfer of research findings obtained for
other process modeling languages to BPMN are encouraged.
Topics include, but are not limited to:

    * BPMN and process modelling methodologies
    * Consistency between BPMN model types
    * Execution Semantics of BPMN
    * BPMN modelling extensions and language profiles
    * Verification of BPMN models
    * Quality of BPMN models
    * Empirical research on BPMN
    * BPMN and modelling guidelines, best practices
    * Integration of BPMN and other process languages
    * Labelling consistency in BPMN
    * Process execution aspects
    * Enterprise applications and BPMN
    * Service composition and BPMN
    * BPMN and electronic commerce processes
    * BPMN and e-government
    * User experience studies
    * Smart BPMN Editors
    * Future directions of BPMN

Important Dates

    * Paper submission deadline: May 30, 2010
    * Author notification: Jun 30, 2010
    * Camera-ready copy: Jul 30, 2010
    * Workshop: Oct 13-14, 2010

Submissions

Submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of
significance, originality and technical quality. BPMN 2010
proceedings will be published in Springer's Lecture Notes in
Business Information Processing (LNBIP). Papers of up to 15
pages length are invited. They should clearly establish the
research contribution and the relation to previous research.

Members of an international program committee will review all
submissions. Each paper will be reviewed by three PC members
guaranteeing that only papers presenting high quality and
innovative research and practical issues in areas relevant to
the workshop theme will be accepted.
