Interdisciplinary Healthcare Systems Joint Position
College of Engineering and College of Business Administration
Northeastern University

Northeastern University’s College of Engineering and College of Business
Administration are jointly seeking applications and nominations for exceptional
candidates for a joint Full or senior level Associate Professor appointment in
healthcare systems.  The candidate should have expertise in healthcare
management, management science, systems engineering, economics, informatics,
operations research, or a related discipline with an emphasis on health
services research, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.  The candidate will work
with faculty in both colleges and across the University to help lead and
further develop Northeastern’s interdisciplinary healthcare systems scholarship
and funding opportunities focused on the intersection of healthcare management,
systems analysis, and process improvement.  The start date for this position is
anticipated to be September 2010.

Northeastern University is a national research university and world leader in
cooperative education, with a growing research and education emphasis in
healthcare management and engineering.  The healthcare programs at the College
of Engineering include two federally-funded Healthcare Systems Engineering
Research Centers and research in healthcare quality, operations and logistics,
optimization, socio-technical systems, information modeling, bioengineering,
nanomedicine, and subsurface imaging. The College of Business Administration
includes faculty focusing on healthcare information systems, financial
analysis, and operations management, as well as growing collaborations with
faculty in our Bouve College of Health Sciences.
Candidates must have a doctoral degree in a closely related field, exceptional
scholarly achievements within the broad domain of healthcare management
science, and a successful record of teaching excellence, grant writing, and
research program management.  Professional, consulting, or related practical
healthcare experience is helpful but not required.
