DESCRIPTION
Following our very successful workshops in Paris and Phoenix, the 3nd SIG
GlobDev Annual Workshop will again provide a forum for discussion of
practical experience and research related to the diffusion and use and of
information and communication technologies (ICT) in developing regions of
the world. 
We invite papers, panel session proposals, and field studies that can inform
theory and provide guidelines to field workers in developing economies. Both
research and practice papers are encouraged. Student papers will be given
special consideration.

Application areas of interest include but are not limited to: 
1.	Curricula in Global Development
2.	Social, political and legal frameworks for fostering ICT diffusion
in developing regions
3.	Networks and computer applications for eGovernment and eBusiness 
4.	Methods for measuring the benefits and costs of projects involving
the adoption of ICT
5.	The role of human and social capital in effective access and use of
ICTs
6.	Critical and theoretical perspectives on the digital divide and
social inclusion 
7.	Scalable and economic ICT infrastructures 
8.	Educational systems; content provision and delivery; developing ICT
skills
9.	Policies related to intellectual capital; open access and the
intellectual commons
10.	ICT to support Small and Medium Enterprise (SME)
11.	Technological entrepreneurship as a path to prosperity 

WORKSHOP PROCEEDINGS
These will be published in the AIS eLibrary: ISBN 978-0-9826068-2-7

FAST-TRACKING TO JOURNAL

Authors of selected workshop papers will be invited to submit their papers
for possible inclusion in a special issue of Information Technology for
Development (ITD) 

IMPORTANT DATES

Notification of Intention to Submit (Optional): asap
Paper/Panel Proposal Submission Deadline:   September 26, 2010
Notification to Authors:  October 24, 2010
Deadline for Final Papers: November 22, 2010
Workshop Date:  December 12, 2010

AUTHOR INSTRUCTIONS
Submitted papers should be limited to 7,000 words or approximately 25 pages
in length.
