*Subject area*

*Background*

Information systems at Örebro University offers the Programme of Systems
Analysis, the Programme of Systems Development, and the international
master’s programme Electronic Government. We also offer self-contained
courses and different contract education programmes. The research in the
subject is conducted within three research groups: Electronic
Government, ICT4D, and MELAB. In Electronic Government the research is
specialised towards the use and development of information systems
within or for the public sector. The research in ICT4D focuses on the
use of ICT (information and communication technologies) for
socio-economic development in development regions. MELAB’s research is
aimed at methods for system development and the development of secure
information systems. Both education and research are in an expansive
phase with the need for further development, thus the need for
recruiting a senior lecturer in informatics.

*Duties and responsibilities*

The duties consist mainly of teaching at different levels on the
Programmes of Systems Analysis and Systems Development, as well as on
self-contained courses, different contract education programmes, and the
master’s programme Electronic Government. You are also expected to
supervise independent projects at the undergraduate and master’s level.

The holder of the position should also actively participate in the daily
activities of the subject group. You will be working in an active
academic research environment. The duties also include administrative
work, your own continuing professional development, as well as
developing contacts and interacting with the wider community. You are
also expected to contribute to the development of the subject and the
courses offered.

*Qualifications*

To qualify for appointment as a senior lecturer, the applicant must hold
a PhD in the subject area or have corresponding academic qualifications
or professional skills of significance with respect to the subject
matter and the duties that the position will entail. The applicant must
also have completed a course on teaching and learning in higher
education or in any other way acquired equivalent experience; and have
demonstrated teaching skills.

*Assessment criteria*

In the appointment process, equal importance is ascribed scholarly
skills and teaching skills. The applicant must have the ability to
cooperate and have communication and information skills. In the
assessment of teaching skills, the experience of planning,
implementation and evaluation of teaching as well as supervision and
examination must be taken into account. The applicant is expected to be
