CALL FOR PAPERS AND CASE STUDDIES:
6th Annual IBIC Challenge: We invite BACHELOR and MASTER STUDENTS to submit Papers and Real-Life Case Studies illustrating how technological solutions were developed and applied for effective information systems to solve the business needs of organizations.
The paper might be a summary of the final year research project, but should document real-life cases or systems based on the application of informatics in organizations. It can describe successful utilization of IT applications, but also failures and mismanagement of ICT resources and applications. Organizations might include companies, government organizations, educational institutions or non-profit organizations.
                FIRST TIME IN THE UNITED STATES! The competition has been held in Europe for the past 5 years with great success.

SCHEDULE:
THURSDAY, May 26, 2011
Faculty: Workshop on supervising Student Projects – Experiences learned, tricks of the trade, assessment, pedagogical research, motivating students, challenges with cooperative projects with industry, innovative teaching techniques, etcetera.
Students: Team-Building events, sharing experiences, sharing cultures, learning about opportunities, and meeting friends.
FRIDAY, May 27, 2011
TECHNOLOGY DAY AT THE RACES:  A conference event including local technology professionals and a day-trip to the practice rounds for the “Indianapolis 500” Formula-1 races – The “500” is the world’s largest single-day spectator sporting event; and 2011 will be the race’s 100th Anniversary!
SATURDAY, May 28, 2011
Student Paper Competition. Accepted papers will be presented by students in competition in several categories, including Best Paper and Best Presentation.  Selected papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings 

IBIC 2011 CONFERENCE:
The conference will be held on Thursday, May 26 – Saturday May 28, 2011 at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, USA. Authors of accepted papers can present and discuss their work with other participants, researchers, faculty members, technology professionals and postgraduate research students. The talks take place in a friendly, helpful and constructive atmosphere. Each attendee who presents a paper will receive a certificate; and papers will be will be published in the conference proceedings!
Participation in the conference is free of charge for participating students and supervisors. Travel and accommodation must be paid by the participants or other sponsoring organization.

ELIGIBILITY:
* The International Business Informatics Challenge and Conference is open to all Bachelor and Master Students registered at Universities or equivalent Third Level institutions. Entrants must be registered in 2011 or have graduated in autumn 2010. Students currently registered at PhD / Doctorate level are not eligible to enter the competition, but may participate in the faculty workshop.
* Individuals or teams may submit papers.
* Some assistance by other individuals (such as a faculty sponsor) is encouraged and permitted as long as the student is the "first author" on the paper.
