DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
MAYS BUSINESS SCHOOL
TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY

The Department of Information and Operations Management Department (INFO) at Mays Business School seeks a scholarly and energetic professor to lead its vibrant faculty. Over the past few years the department has made significant progress in developing a world class program in supply chain management and is now looking for a new department head to take it to the next level. During the past four years, seven research-focused tenure-track professors have been hired, more than 200 undergraduate supply chain management majors added, a PhD program in supply chain management initiated as well as an industry advisory board.

The department consists of an active faculty that is committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service. They hold 35 editorial review board positions, 12 associate and senior editor positions and have won several editorial awards. The faculty regularly publish in the leading journals in their field. The department's undergraduate supply chain program was recently ranked third nationally for scope of program and sixth nationally for industry value by AMR Research.

The Mays Business School student body is comprised of approximately 4100 undergraduate and 800 graduate students. The School is consistently ranked among the prominent public business schools in the nation by Business Week, U.S. News and World Report, Financial times, Princeton Review, and Forbes. The desired qualifications for appointment to the position of Head include:


  1.  Ph.D. in Operations Management or a related area.
  2.  Qualifications for the Rank of Professor. Candidates with an exceptional scholarly record will be considered for an endowed position.
  3.  Significant record of teaching and scholarship in Operations Management or a related area.
  4.  Ability to provide academic and administrative leadership to the Department.
  5.  Ability and desire to work effectively with the multiple stakeholders of the Department, College, and Texas A&M University.

The Head of the Department of Information and Operations Management works with and reports to the Executive Associate Dean of Mays Business School.
