Dear colleagues,
ConceptBase.cc 7.3 is now available for download at
http://conceptbase.sourceforge.net/
ConceptBase.cc is a metamodeling system based on a deductive database engine
extended by active rules and recursive function definitions.
A particular strength of the system is the support of metaclass-level
rules and constraints. They can be used to specify the meaning of
modeling constructs such as ISA (specialization), PARTOF, and others.
All objects reside in the same database regardless of their abstraction
lebel (data, class, metaclass, metametaclass, etc). Hence, you
can define the constructs of a modeling language as metaclasses,
instantiate it to the class level (=example model). The class level itself
can be instantiated to the data level. All in the same environment.
Graphical an textual editors are provided with the user interface. You
can adapt the shapes of the graphical editor.
A repository with solution to specific modeling problems is online at
http://merkur.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/bscw.cgi/187789
Slides introducing the foundations of the system and its use for
method engineering are distributed via
http://merkur.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/bscw.cgi/2616290
The system is free software and distributed under a FreeBSD-style license.
Precompiled binaries are available for Linux, Solaris, and Windows.
Sources are available as well.
Please follow the installation guide
http://merkur.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/bscw.cgi/d2745593/InstallationGuide.txt
to get ConceptBase.cc running on your local computer.
Kind greetings: Manfred Jeusfeld
PS: ConceptBase.cc is a joint project of Tilburg University and RWTH Aachen.
