[AISWorld] The 2011 AIS Annual Student Chapter Awards

To all AIS Members:

The AIS Annual Student Chapter Awards will honor the accomplishments of the best AIS student chapters worldwide.  The awards will be presented at a special ceremony each year. The 2011 awards will be presented at the ICIS 2011 conference in Shanghai, China to be held December 4 to 7, 2011.  Each chapter can win only one award. Awards are made based on the student chapter annual reports, which are due on May 6th, 2011.

Award categories

Student chapter-of-the-year (one chapter)

Best new student chapter-of-the-year (one chapter)

Distinguished student chapter (multiple recipients)

Outstanding student chapter (multiple recipients)

The student chapter-of-the-year award is the highest award given to a student chapter that has demonstrated an exceptional, well-rounded, and organized program. The best new chapter award is given to the best chapter founded (or restarted) 15 months or less before the report due date. The distinguished student chapter and outstanding chapter awards recognize exemplary chapters.

Outstanding professional development (multiple recipients)
The outstanding professional development award will be given to a student chapter for excellence in creating and offering professional development opportunities to their members.

Outstanding membership activities (multiple recipients)
The outstanding professional development award will be given to a student chapter for excellence in recruiting members and in offering member services.

Outstanding “careers in IS” (multiple recipients)
The outstanding “careers in information systems” award will be given to a student chapter that successfully promotes the study or practice of information systems to high school students, or current students in their home institution, or worldwide.

Outstanding community service (multiple recipients)
The outstanding community service award will be given to a student chapter that has made a major contribution to their local community.

Outstanding fundraising (multiple recipients)
The outstanding fundraising award will be given to a student chapter that has created successful and sustainable funding strategies for their chapter.

Outstanding communications (multiple recipients)
The outstanding communications award will be given to a student chapter for excellence in communicating with their stakeholders using websites, meetings, email, and other media.
