UBIQUITOUS USER MODELING WORKSHOP

May 16 –17, 2011

University of Haifa, Israel

http://www.cri.haifa.ac.il/UbiqModelWorkshop.htm

======= Summary and Theme ==============

The ubiquity of computational devices in today’s everyday life brings with
it a need for personal services offered to users in a changing and moving
environment. Ubiquitous User Modeling aims to model user’s ongoing behavior
to be available and shared by a variety of systems in order to provide
personalized and adaptive services and interfaces across different devices.

The workshop is intended to bring together researchers, graduate students
and industry people in the area of ubiquitous user modeling (and related
areas). The workshop will be an opportunity for researchers to share and
collaborate on ideas related to ubiquitous user modeling, lifelong user
modeling, personalization and other related topics. It will be a great
opportunity for graduate students to present their work, get feedback, learn
and meet leading researchers in this area.

======= Initial List of Topics (to be extended) =======

• User modeling in ubiquitous computing

•             Lifelong user modeling

• Mobile personalization in cultural heritage

• Personalization of information on situated and large displays

•             Personalized mobile learning

• Ubiquitous user modeling in the social web

• Evaluation in ubiquitous user modeling

• Privacy and security in ubiquitous user modeling

========== To Participate  ==========

If you wish to present at the workshop, please submit a two-page position
paper related to your experience with respect to the workshop’s theme by
March 15th, 2011. Demos and Videos are also welcome. Following the workshop,
submissions may be solicited to submit a full paper for a potential special
issue on the topic. Industry and academia people who simply wish to
participate may register by email by April 10th, 2011. Submissions and
registrations should be sent to: joel.lanir at gmail.com.
