The Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI) at the Karlsruhe
Institute of Technology (KIT) invites applications to the graduate
program "Service Research". In close collaboration with associated
industry partners, the graduate program will investigate challenging
research questions arising from complex service systems.

The graduate program focuses on two main research streams within Service
Research: Human-based eServices and Service Value Network Analytics. The
research will comprise of the theoretical foundations like Service
Innovation, Market Engineering, Service Architecture, Operations
Research and Semantics as well as their application in domains such as
Energy, Healthcare, Logistics or Information and Communication
Technologies. An interdisciplinary knowledge and research approach is
essential to tackle the appealing research questions. The program offers
wide prospects for interdisciplinary research in an inspiring,
team-oriented, and international research environment with strong ties
to industry.

Candidates have the opportunity to pursue a PhD degree, to be supervised
by two KSRI directors, to work together with a mentor from the industry
and stay with one of our (industry) partners for 4-6 months. Together
with the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists KSRI offers a wide range of
advanced training courses for improving professional skills as an
integrated part of the graduate program. Candidates will receive a
financial support which is equivalent to the rates of the German
Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft - DFG). Additional
funds for consumables and travel will be provided by KSRI.

Interested candidates with an impressive academic record in the
preferred disciplines computer science, economics, information systems,
management science and mathematics as well as engineering and social
sciences with a tight focus on eServices are invited to submit their
application to applications at ksri.kit.edu
<mailto:applications at ksri.kit.edu> until March 15th 2011. Further
information about the research streams, the requirements and the
application process are available on our website:

http://www.ksri.kit.edu/graduate-program
