Ref: 2011 - International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies in Forensics Paper submission deadline has been extended to March 16

Dear All,

Due to several requests, and after due consideration, the organizing committee has decided to extend the submission deadline for papers/tutorials/posters until March 16th, 2011.

The notification of acceptance deadline is ultimately defined by the time needed by authors from certain countries to obtain their visas or grants to support their trip to Brazil.
For that reason, the selection process could not wait and has been already started with the currently available submissions. Please submit you contribution as soon as possible.

Though we've received some excellent submissions thus far, we hope the extension will allow us to better cover the full spectrum of the conference. We welcome submissions for all areas stated in the conference call for papers but would specially welcome contributions related to laboratory instrumentation and contributions on data and signal processing applications in forensics.

Since late contributions will get shorter time fo take advantage of reviewers comments, authors should be specially careful in making very clear their contribution to the forensic field, and should clearly focus on actual or potential applications of ICT technologies to the solution of forensic problems.

On the lighter side, the news are that the conference will be located in the Iberostar Praia do Forte Resort, about 50km from Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. The conference website http://ICTinForensics.org has been updated with venue information, there you may find more information on the resort complex.

The night of the last conference day is Saint John´s Eve, the most important popular celebration in Brazilian northeastern region. The conference date was chosen on purpose to give participants the opportunity to enjoy that.

Best Regards,
