Open Doctoral Students Positions at the Information Systems Security  
Research Center, University of Oulu, Finland

The Information Systems Security Research Center (ISSRC) (http://issrc.oulu.fi/about/ 
) has openings for doctoral student positions on IS security and  
privacy.  Starting salary is 2,200 Euros a month, and salary increases  
as the thesis work progress.  Additionally, there is yearly vacation  
money, approximately one half of the monthly salary.

The members of the ISSRC have published their research papers in  
premier IS journals, including MIS Quarterly, JAIS, EJIS, JMIS, ISJ,  
I&O, I&M, CACM, and IEEE Computer. The ISSRC belongs to the Department  
of Information Processing Science. IS scholars of the department are  
ranked highly in terms of IS research productivity among European  
universities (e.g., Lin & Gregor 2009; PAJAIS).  More than 30  
companies are funding the ISSRC. Hence, the center has strong and  
active research connections to IT industry with the result that the  
candidates have excellent opportunities to carry out empirical  
research in close connection with industry.

A master’s degree in Information Systems or Software Engineering will  
be required to apply. The open doctoral students positions are  
Information Systems positions; candidates with interest in Computer  
Science Security or Computer Engineering will not be considered. The
