We are very pleased to invite new MIS faculty to participate in the MIS Camp, which will be held at the GM/Marriott Renaissance (conference facility) on Thursday, August 4th, in conjunction with the 2011 Americas Conference on Information Systems.

At MIS Camp, we will focus on supporting you and other faculty at your career stage to more effectively navigate the challenges that are found along the journey to becoming a senior faculty member. MIS Camp will have four interactive sessions with junior and senior faculty to explore the different aspects of your faculty career. The emphasis is on interaction, sharing of experiences, listening, and having fun.

Potential campers include AIS members beginning their first, second or third year in an academic position in the Fall of 2011. This format has been very successful in the past, partly because it allows new faculty to share their experiences at their new institution with peers from other institutions. If you have attended camp before, you should not attend a second time, so if you have attended MIS camp before, please do NOT apply.

In order to keep this experience an intimate one, attendance is limited to 32 people. To be part of MIS Camp you have to follow two processes: (1) when registering for the AMCIS Conference you will have to indicate on the registration form your interest to attend MIS Camp and (2) you must also apply by sending the Registration form to the Camp organizers by June 1, 2011.

You can find more information on the AMCIS 2011 website (http://amcis2011.aisnet.org/)

This year's camp organizers are:
Sue Brown (suebrown at email.arizona.edu)
Prabhudev Konana (Prabhudev.Konana at mccombs.utexas.edu)
Cheri Speier (cspeier at msu.edu)

We hope you'll join us!
