Call for Papers for the IFIP 8.9/CONFENIS 2011 conference

With the theme:

RE-CONCEPTUALIZING ENTERPRISE INFORMATION SYSTEMS



It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the Fifth International Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems (CONFENIS 2011) to be held in Aalborg, Denmark, October 16-18, 2011.

This conference is a joint effort of the Center for Industrial Production, Aalborg University and the IFIP Working Group on Enterprise Information Systems (WG 8.9). CONFENIS is a primary international event which provides an opportunity for Enterprise Information Systems academicians and practitioners in the world to gather, exchange ideas, and present original research and case studies in their fields. Scientists and practitioners are invited to address the current topics in the area or the research frontier at this unique international forum.



CONFERENCE TOPICS

Specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  *   Enterprise Information Systems, Concepts and cases, ontologies and taxonomies
  *   Business Process Management, Service-oriented Architectures and Enterprise Architectures
  *   Enterprise Engineering; Enterprise modeling and integration; Enterprise Application Integration; IT aspects of inter-enterprise collaboration and virtual enterprises
  *   Enterprise computing; realization technologies for enterprise computing, including ontologies, semantic web support, middleware standards tools and systems, e.g. business intelligence
  *   Design and modeling paradigms for enterprise computing; Trust, security, and privacy issues in enterprise computing; and Quality-assurance of enterprise computing systems
  *   New delivery models for Enterprise Information Systems including cloud computing/services, Software as a Service (SaaS) and software on demand
  *   Enterprise Information systems goes social: Social software integrated with EIS, Enterprise 2.0, facebookization of ERP
  *   Future strategies, market trends and industry outlook for Enterprise systems vendors: Surveys, research reports and critical evaluations of trends at national, transnational and/or global level
  *   Mobility and Enterprise Information Systems covering integration with mobile devices, mobile applications aiming at "any device, any place, at any time"
  *   Parameterization, flexibility, customization and tailoring of Enterprise Information Systems
  *   Social theories to make sense of enterprise Information Systems such as actor-network theory, institutional theory, structuration theory sensemaking or other theories used in organization studies
  *   Management of Enterprise Information Systems, applications, case and issues
  *   Research methodologies to study Enterprise Information Systems
  *   Enterprise Information Systems university curriculum, education and professional training

The conference this year has a particular interest in paper challenging the established concepts of enterprise information systems and has a focus on the design perspective.

A Doctoral consortium on Design Science Research in Enterprise Information Systems is being held adjacent to this conference.

We are soliciting for four types of paper: workshop and panel proposals, conceptual papers, short position papers (work in progress) and regular research papers. The proceedings from the conference and the doctoral consortium will be published by IFIP and Springer.
