The VU University of Amsterdam, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration; Knowledge, Innovation and Networks (KIN) research group, is pleased to announce the following vacancy:

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (www.feweb.vu.nl) seeks to combine high quality education with excellent research. At the undergraduate level, the Faculty offers Bachelor’s programmes in Economics and Business Economics;  Econometrics and Operations Research;  and Business Administration. At the graduate and postgraduate level, it offers eight Master’s programmes and thirteen professional degree programmes. The faculty has several research groups with an outstanding international reputation. FEWEB accommodates approximately 5000 students and 1500 postgraduate students. Over 500 staff members are employed at the Faculty.

The research group Knowledge, Information and Networks (KIN) at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration unites research and teaching on topics related to information systems, organizational communication, social networks and knowledge & innovation. Its central focus is on multi-disciplinary research within the rising field of web-based information and knowledge intensive processes within and between organizations and organizational networks. The KIN research group intends to expand its research and teaching through the appointment of a junior staff member, and invites applicants for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking energetic researchers/teachers in the area of Information Systems, with outstanding qualifications, who will contribute to shaping the future directions of the KIN group.

Requirements

You have a Ph.D. degree related to Business Administration, Information Systems,  or Business Informatics. Your research interests and teaching experience are related to the use of Information Systems in organizational processes. You are a stimulating lecturer who will teach Information Systems courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. You are expected to carry out research that is publishable in top international scientific journals, to be eager to join in research collaborations, to participate in the acquisition of externally funded research projects and to contribute to management tasks. Appointments at a higher entry level are possible for exceptionally qualified candidates
 
Particulars

The assistant professor position is a tenure track position with an initial appointment for 2+4 years and the possibility of tenure. At the end of the second year a performance evaluation will take place deciding on the extension of the appointment for another 4 years. In the fifth year of the appointment the tenure decision will be taken. We offer a competitive salary with up to 29 working days of leave that can be taken up after consultation. The formal work week consists of 38 hours (or 40 hours with additional days of leave).

Salary

The salary will be in accordance with university regulations for academic personnel, and depending on experience, range from a minimum of €3.195,-  gross per month up to a maximum of €4.970,- gross per month (salary scales 11 and 12) based on a fulltime employment.
