Professor and Chair of Business and Information Technology
Missouri University of Science and Technology

Missouri University of Science and Technology, Missouri¹s Technological
Research University, one of four campuses of the University of Missouri
system, invites applications and nominations for the position of Professor
and Chair, Department of Business and Information Technology (BIT). This is
a tenure track position. The department awards a Bachelor of Science degree
in Business and Management Systems; a Master of Business Administration
(MBA); and Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Information Science and
Technology. The department is seeking accreditation with the Association to
Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and is currently in the
self-study stage, seeking an accreditation review visit.

The Chair of the Business and Information Technology department is required
to oversee all departmental activities, including AACSB accreditation, and
to provide leadership toward the achievement of excellence in teaching,
research, extension, and service activities of the department. The chair is
also required to work closely with other Academic department chairs, the
Vice Provosts, the Provost, and the various administrative unit directors in
achieving the University¹s strategic goals.

The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in a Business or
Information Technology discipline from an AACSB accredited University; a
record of teaching and research that merits appointment as a full professor
with tenure in the department of Business and Information Technology; a
proven research record; first-hand experience with managing personnel and
budgets; strong communication, leadership, and consensus building skills;
and the ability to interact effectively with industry partners. The
candidate must also be academically qualified, according to AACSB criteria,
to teach in the area of Business or Information Technology.

Preference will be given to a candidate who has first-hand experience with
academic curricula; experience and expertise with business in a
technological context; experience with AACSB accreditation; vision and plans
to lead the department of Business and Information Technology to establish a
Ph.D. program; and knowledge and experience with academic department
operations. University regulations provide for consultation as a means of
professional improvement and community service. You may devote, on an
average, the equivalent of one day per week to such activities.

The final candidate is required to provide an official transcript showing
completion of the doctorate degree as specified above. Copies of
transcript(s) must be provided prior to the start of employment. In
addition, the final candidate may be required to verify other credentials
listed in application materials. You should request that an official
transcript showing the completion of your terminal degree be sent to the
VPAA Office as soon as possible. Failure to provide official transcript(s)
or other required verification may result in the withdrawal of the job
offer.

Screening of candidates will begin immediately and will continue until the
