[AISWorld] 2nd Call for Participation- PD Consoritum at MCIS2011, Cyprus

The MCIS Doctoral and Junior Faculty Professional Development Consortium is a one-day workshop that aims to provide an informal, supportive, and developmental forum in which doctoral students and junior researchers can discuss their research effort and receive high quality constructive feedback. The consortium offers an excellent opportunity for doctoral students and academics in their early career to present their work and to raise questions regarding theoretical, methodological or practical issues. This is a lively and highly participative event where an international group of students, junior and senior researchers will be engaged in substantial discussions that addresses not only different aspects of research but also discuss career and professional development issues. 

Eligibility: 
•        Doctoral Students should have completed their first year of doctoral studies and formally presented a research proposal. They should also provide a letter of support (via email to the consortium organizers) from their supervisor. 
•        Junior faculty should hold a faculty position for not more than four years.

Application:
Selection is competitive and is based on merit. To apply, doctoral students should submit an extended abstract of their approved dissertation proposal, and junior faculty should submit a position statement that describes their research interest. Abstracts and position statements should be 3 to 7 pages long all inclusive. Submissions should include, but not be limited to, the following: research motivation and goals, brief theoretical background, research method and approach, expected or preliminary results, and research contribution. Please format the abstracts and position statements using the template provided and submit it ahead of the deadline via the conference electronic submission system (EasyChair) https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=mcis2011. 

Participation: 
Admitted applicants are expected to attend the entire full day program on Saturday, 3rd  September 2011. A welcome reception will be held on the evening prior to the workshop. Venues will be announced. 

Fees:
There are no additional fees for attending the consortium. Participants are expected to register for MCIS 2011 and to cover their own travel and accommodation.
