School of Management (SOM) at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT)
invites candidates from all areas in Management and Economics to apply
for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, Professor and Chair
Professor level.

Brief Introduction of HIT and SOM
Harbin Institute of Technology was founded in 1920. Until now, HIT has
grown up to be one of the top universities in China. In 1996, HIT was
among the first group of universities to be included in “Project 211”.
This project targets 100 institutions of higher education in China to
receive preferential support for development in order to become
world-class universities in the 21st century. In 1999, HIT was listed
as one of the top nine key universities in China (“Project 985”). This
distinction provided HIT with the opportunity to develop into a highly
competitive state of the art university with the assistance of the
Ministry of Education and the Heilongjiang Provincial Government. In
October 2009, HIT formed an Ivy League type alliance (The C9 Alliance)
with eight of China’s elite universities, among which are Fudan
University, Nanjing University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong
University, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology
of China, Xi'an Jiao Tong University, and Zhejiang University, which
enhances the academic capacity and cooperation.

School of Management at HIT is one of earliest four management schools
established in mainland China, and by now it has been among the
leading management schools in China ever since. SOM consists of six
departments: the Department of Management Science & Engineering, the
Department of Construction & Real Estate, the Department of Business
Administration, the Department of Finance & Trade, the Department of
Accounting and the Department of Public Administration. The program of
Management Science& Engineering is honored as “A level” National Key
Discipline. It has been growing to be an international-level business
school, and welcoming the excellent researchers all over the world.

Desired Disciplinary Fields in Employment
Preference is given to scholars with solid research records in the
following areas: management information systems (MIS), organization
management (OM), operation research (OR), business management,
finance, general administration, accounting, real estate,
international trade, or other related to management science.

Employment Criteria
Positions of Professors/Chair Professors should:
·Have first-class academic performance with high-level influences.
·Be able to continue publishing articles on international or
domestic top-tier journals.
·Be able to turn into pioneering leaders in academic research fields.
·Have a rich expertise in teaching, with proven successful
teaching outputs.

Positions of Associate Professors should:
·Have proven tracks of academic results with high-level influences.
·Have potentials in publishing articles on international or
domestic top-tier journal.
·Have a rich teaching expertise, with successful teaching outputs.
Excellent graduates from top universities may also compete for this position.

Positions of Assistant Professors should:
·Have prestigious backgrounds of education.
·Have foreseeable potentials in scientific research, with
·proven cases of publishing articles on any major international
academic conference in related research fields.
