Senior Assistant/Associate Professor in Information Systems
Department of Finance and Operations Management

The Finance and Operations Management Department of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenure‐track faculty position in Information Systems (IS) at the Senior Assistant/Associate  Professor level, to start in September 2012. The University of Massachusetts Amherst is a vibrant and growing institution, committed to the enhancement of its stature as a leading public research university. The campus is a member of the Five College Consortium and collaborates with Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke and Smith Colleges on many initiatives and projects. The department has an undergraduate program in Operations and Information Management and coordinates the PhD track in Management Science for the doctoral program in Business Administration.  Departmental faculty are also involved in teaching at the MBA level, including a core MBA course in IS Strategy and IS electives. 

Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Information Systems, or a related discipline, and are expected to conduct high caliber research, showing evidence of, or potential for, publishing in the premier IS journals.  Further, a record of high-quality, effective teaching is required with expertise or evident potential in the areas of introductory IS, project management, business processes and enterprise systems, and/or business intelligence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. An ability to teach in both face-to-face and distance education formats to MBA students who have considerable work experience is highly desirable. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
