Position Description:
CoEIA is continuing a large expansion and seeks outstanding faculty and research staff at Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Post-Doc, and Research Assistant positions. The potential candidates are expected to work on established research of the center within the four declared research areas provided below, and, when called upon, teach graduate level information security courses and supervise students in their projects/thesis.
Required Qualifications:

·         Doctoral or Masters degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related fields.

·         A well-established research track record in the area of information assurance as demonstrated by international journal and conference publications.

·         Demonstrated ability to generate new ideas and innovations.

·         Experience in executing research projects.

·         Outstanding communication skills and the ability to develop original research agendas. Good writing and oral communication skills are also required. Presentation of research results in the form of journal publications, conference presentations and technical reports.

·         List of information assurance and security courses/training interested in teaching/leading at CoEIA.

History Profile of CoEIA
The Center of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA) took its roots 2 years back in King Saud University and started off in 1 room with 1 PhD assisted by 2 research assistants. As the initial years passed, the number of rooms multiplied along with staff. This wasn’t a random growth but inspired by a vision of “to be an internationally recognized center of excellence in information assurance and the first source of expertise in the field of Information assurance in middle east region”
The vision transformed in to a mission of “to support and develop specialized scientific researchers in information assurance and to transfer knowledge and provide consultation”.
Hence, the mission transforms in goals to:

·         Encouraging and supporting research to assess and solve information assurance problems.

·         Attracting talents to develop innovative products in Information Assurance.

·         Transferring the knowledge of Information Assurance.

·         Encouraging embedding information assurance in the research and education in Saudi Arabia

·         Providing professional services in Information Assurance.

·         Enhancing cooperation between different departments in King Saud University in the field of information assurance.

·         Developing facilities and services to academic and institutional researchers.

·         Enhancing collaboration and personal exchange between the center and organizations locally and internationally.
Today, as we see CoEIA as one of the best centers of excellence within the ambits of King Saud University. It provides several services e.g., contributing in research, teaching, training, and giving awareness to society in information security, establishing a research culture and now pioneering into newer discoveries of technology for information assurance.
CoEIA has got one registered patent in the US and its inventor is Dr. Khaled Alghathbar, the CoEIA Director. Furthermore, nine more patents are under registration/pending in the US and PCT.
Besides, the Director & Vice-Director, CoEIA has 4 full-time PhDs working in different thematic areas of information assurance. These PhDs are leading research teams in the pursuit of CoEIA research program which comprises:

·         Information Assurance Management and Governance

·         Identification, Authentication and Privacy

·         Internet Surveillance and Forensics

·         Network Security
To support the research & development department, there are 29 full-time research assistants well-versed in information assurance areas.
CoEIA has published 135 international journal and conference papers, including ISI papers, and 4 books so far, which shows a remarkable achievement in a very short duration since its establishment. In addition, some of CoEIA’s research has been transformed into 10 innovative products. Recently, CoEIA won 2 Gold and 1 Silver medals at International Malaysian Technology Expo 2011 that was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and 1 bronze medal at Geneva innovations exhibition which shows that the research of CoEIA has been acknowledged internationally.
CoEIA has granted 22 research funds from its generous funding to the local researchers to pursue projects in information assurance areas. The outcomes of these projects are in the form of research publications, reports, products, and processes.
The student support program of CoEIA has been very successful and more than 40 local students have been benefited from it so far.
To disseminate knowledge and create awareness of information assurance in the Kingdom, CoEIA has organized 8 workshops, 33+ lectures, 22+ training courses, published 450+ awareness articles in Arabic, developed "Ammen.coeia.edu.sa" the richest Arabic Awareness portal, published 40 episodes of an awareness short story in Arabic, designed and Published 20 Awareness Posters, and established a National Certification in Information Assurance in Arabic language, which is called RAWAM.
CoEIA has also established its collaboration with several national and international research organizations, universities, and researchers to boost its research agenda and to groom its capability for pursuing world-class research.
