http://www.computing.dcu.ie/europeanmbi
====================================

Dublin City University (Ireland) offers a Master’s programme in Business
Informatics, which focuses on Designing and Managing Business
Information Systems.

There are still places available for the upcoming year (2011/12).
Application deadline is 30/August 2011, and applications are accepted
via the central Postgraduate Applications Centre at www.pac.ie

If at all possible, we would be grateful if you could circulate the
information about the programme among your students.

The M.Sc. in Business Informatics centres on the combination of
technology and business. It aims to help organisations identify, apply
and develop the most beneficial ICT solutions, thus improving
an organisation's performance. This programme bridges the hard and soft
sides of ICT by utilising software engineering and computer science with
information systems and business.

The programme (European MSc in Business Informatics) is designed to be
completed in one calendar year with the the opportunity to work on a
research project in another European country (e.g. in collaboration with
partnering Universities and/or companies). In fact the research project
abroad (duration of 3-4 months during the summer) provides great
opportunities to initiate student exchanges and collaborative (student)
research projects.

Career Opportunities
====================
The international focus of the European M.Sc. in Business Informatics
will make graduates particularly sought-after in the global ICT
marketplace. Graduates can expect to be recruited to a wide range of
positions such as Information Systems Consultant, Business Analyst,
Systems Analyst or IT Manager. Employing companies will include those
heavily dependent on ICT and companies with international operations,
such as financial services firms, healthcare organisations, logistics
companies, public service enterprises and multinational corporations.
Eg. Accenture, PricewaterhouseCoopers, SAP, Oracle.

Four Months in a European Environment: Networking for the Future
================================================================
The European M.Sc. in Business Informatics is designed to be completed
in one calendar year of full-time study or two years part-time. In the
final four months of the programme, students will have an opportunity to
work on a research project and gain work experience in Ireland or a
European country, supervised at one of our partner universities.
Projects may be sponsored by external organisations or involve some of
the student's or staff's own ideas. Practicum abroad will be
supervised in English.
