I recently sent out a request for information about anyone offering courses in Information Analytics. As a group, we seem to be on the same page in that we believe it to be a timely and important topic for our students. Interest is very high even if we are not as far along as we would like to be. A summary of submissions from our distinguished colleagues is provided below.

Our colleagues at North Carolina State University are offering an MS in Analytics, http://analytics.ncsu.edu/.

Some text books that are being considered:
- Brightman, H.J. (1999). Data Analysis in plain English
- Berk & Carey (2010). Data Analysis
- Guerrero, H. (2010). Excel Data Analysis
- Anderson, Sweeney, et. al (2010). Quantitative Methods for Business

Based on comments from our colleagues, it appears that Information Analytics has great interdisciplinary potential. Interest in this topic was expressed from the Information Systems, Information Studies, Information Science, and Library Science discipliines.

I apologize that I was not able to provide more information. If we haven't already done so, it might be interesting to develop tracks for Information Analytics at our major conferences.

With kind regards,
John
