The Institute for Information Management & Control 
(http://www.wu.ac.at/ic/) at the WU (Vienna, Austria) invites applicants 
for a 75% (30 hours/week) Teaching and Research Associate position (pre 
doc) or two 37,5% (15 hours/week) Teaching and Research Associate 
positions (pre doc). This employee positions will be limited to a period 
from November 1, 2011 (commencement date subject to change and can be 
adapted) until October 31, 2017.

Please note that under the terms of the WU personnel development plan, 
the position of Teaching and Research Associate is limited to an 
employment period of not more than six years. Applicants who are already 
employed at WU as substitute employees can therefore only be employed 
for the time remaining to complete the six-year period. Persons who have 
already been employed at WU in a Teaching and Research Associate 
position can only be re-employed in a Assistant Professor, tenure track 
position.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will engage in teaching (2 hours per week of 
independent teaching), in exam invigilation and marking, and in other 
administrative work while pursuing an active programme of academic 
research, which should lead to a doctorate degree at the WU. Candidates 
not fluent in German are expected to learn German within two years.

Required skills and qualifications:
Candidates must have a university degree (master or an equivalent) in 
information systems, business administration (with at least one IT 
related major), informatics, computer science or related disciplines; be 
fluent in English; possess proven skills in programming and/or 
mathematics/statistics and have an interest to align their research to 
the main research fields of the Institute.

Desirable skills and qualifications:
Candidates with an interest in Information Systems and Accounting are 
particularly encouraged to apply. Teaching experience, an international 
orientation and first publication experience are also appreciated.
