We invite you to register and participate in the 21st Annual Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems to be held in Shanghai, CHINA, on December 3-4, 2011, just prior to the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). The full 2-day workshop features over 30 research papers and panel discussions which provide a forum for discussion and interaction among scholars with research interests in the cutting edge issues of information technologies and systems. The theme of the conference is “Business Intelligence and Cloud Computing for Enterprise Competitiveness.”
Business Intelligence (BI) is an umbrella term that describes technologies and business concepts organizations use to create business value. According to an IBM Global CIO Study, the collective voice of more than 2,500 Chief Information Officers (CIOs) worldwide points to business intelligence and analytics as the top visionary plan for enhancing their enterprises’ competitiveness. As data storage and access capabilities continue to increase, cloud computing is emerging as an important aspect for many BI strategies. It has the potential to speed application deployment, increase innovation; lower maintenance costs, and improve business agility. However, these benefits must be balanced against concerns over security and ownership of information assets.
