Assistant/Associate Professor in Information Systems - School of Information Technology

Illinois State University, School of Information Technology invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Information Systems, beginning August 16, 2012.

To be considered, applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Information Systems or a closely related area or reasonably expect to complete the doctorate by January 1, 2013. The successful applicant will have significant expertise in information systems and show evidence of a current research agenda. Candidates must demonstrate the potential to teach courses in at least two of the following areas: project management, object-oriented design and development, systems analysis and design, and Java programming. Preferred areas of research include, but are not limited to, Software Design, Web 2.0, Enterprise Systems Integration, Business Intelligence, and Health Information Systems.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses, develop a focused area of scholarly research, supervise graduate students, and provide service to the University, School, profession and community.

Salary, Rank, and Tenure: Salary is commensurate with professional experience and preparation. This is a tenure-track, nine-month position with potential for summer employment.

The School: The School of Information Technology is one of eight units in the College of Applied Science and Technology. The School offers three undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Telecommunications Management and a Master of Science in Information Systems. The undergraduate CS and IS programs are accredited by ABET. The School has approximately 520 undergraduate and 80 graduate students and 18 full-time faculty.
