Dear All,

The Management Information Systems (MIS) Department at the College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University is seeking qualified applicants for one Teaching Assistant Professor (TAP) position beginning January 1, 2012, or if not filled, August 17, 2012. This is a non-tenure continuing appointment. 
Duties will include teaching undergraduate MIS courses in subjects such as programming languages, data structures, computer literacy, systems programming, networking computer security, systems analysis and design and database technologies. Duties may include teaching graduate level courses in MIS. Duties will also include student retention, recruitment and placement activities. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or similar preparation at time of appointment, knowledge of the subject material, evidence of teaching excellence with proven teaching experience. Experience in either the information systems practitioner area or practical research applications will also be highly valued. Applicant must be fluent in writing and speaking English. Knowledge of lab-based online teaching tools, DFD diagrams, ER diagrams, TCP/IP model, Wireshark, PHP, C, C++, Java, Linux, Windows, computer literacy, computer security, software engineering, and iPhone app programming is desirable. Associated certifications may include CompTIA, CEH, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, CIW, MCITP, MCSE, PMP, ITIL and COBIT.
