The iSchool at the University of Maryland invites creative and forward-thinking individuals to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in a multicultural environment where research and teaching share the highest priority and colleagues offer and expect collaboration in all aspects of their academic work. We seek a colleague whose research and teaching interests focus on how information can be employed to meet the needs of corporations, entrepreneurial startups, non-profits, government and non-governmental organizations, and other institutional settings. This may include (but is not limited to):

• Social media and social network analysis in teams and organizations
• Social, cultural and global aspects of information and knowledge management
• Innovation and research networks
• Management and evaluation of information systems, services and innovation

We are a faculty that engages in a broad range of research with the shared theme of information, technology and people. This is a 9-month tenure-track appointment, with opportunities for grant-funded summer research. Salary and benefits are competitive based upon qualifications and experience. The ideal candidate will:

The iSchool enrolls nearly 500 students in four degree programs: Ph.D. in Information Studies, Master of Information Management, Master of Library Science, and Master of Science in Human Computer Interaction; faculty teach across programs. We are known internationally for our vibrant program of interdisciplinary research in academic and public library innovation, archives and records management, cloud computing, computational linguistics, digital humanities, diverse populations, health information, information policy, information retrieval, interface design, learning environments, and social media. Several members of our faculty hold appointments in Business, Education, English, the Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. Qualifications. Ph.D. or equivalent in a related area at time of appointment; demonstrated potential for research excellence; clear potential to attract external support for research; evidence of effective and innovative teaching.
