The Web Information Systems research group at TU Delft has a vacancy for an
Asst./Assoc. Professor of Web Information Systems

Job description

The candidate's primary responsibilities include conducting research in the field of Web information systems, assisting in the supervision of PhD students studying this topic, acquiring external research funding, teaching and developing new education at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Computer Science and Information Architecture, and performing department and university management tasks. Important topics of research in this area are theory, methods, techniques and tools for designing and developing Web-based information systems and understanding the way these systems are used by individuals and organisations. The applicant's specific areas of interest might include, but are not limited to, engineering and development methods for Web-based systems, model-driven Web engineering, technical aspects of the (Semantic) Web, Web data integration, data distribution and interoperability, semi-structured data, Web information system architecture, Web and service-oriented arch!
  itectures, semantic search and retrieval, ontology engineering, ontology alignment, Linked Open Data, semantic enrichment, user modelling, adaptation and personalisation, Web science, social web and network analysis.

Requirements

The successful candidate has obtained a PhD in the research field, has proven knowledge and experience in the field, preferably demonstrated through a strong publication record, and is an enthusiastic team player with the ambition to strengthen and expand the research of the new group. The candidate has experience in conducting education at the university level, and the ability to obtain research funding through the acquisition of national or international research projects.

Conditions of employment

This is a full-time, tenure-track position. The starting salary of the Assistant Professor, depending on age and experience, varies from scale 11 to 12 with a maximum of 4,970 euro gross per month (max. salary for the Associate Professor position is scale 14, 5920 euro).
