INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE

SIGGreen of AIS is all set to go with a virtual workshop this Friday to test out (ie play with) different technologies to support online meetings of groups like SIGGreen and thus reducing our need for so much travel that is expensive, time-consuming and bad for the environment. A detailed Schedule is up on the Wiki http://siggreen.wikispaces.com/ together with Participant Information that gives instructions how to get involved. To suit different time-zones we will be holding 10 sessions 2 session on each of 5 applications as follows:
Using GotoMeeting, the chair of SIGGreen will present a webinar on the aims and activities of SIGGreen
Using Elluminate we will discuss requirements and use cases for these online tools
Using Google, Prof Rick Watson will lead discussion on the topic of Energy Informatics
Using Zing we will critique the SIGGreen Statement/Manifesto, and
On Facebook we will discuss what we IS folks can do to help green our own campuses and programs
We will also use Skype, Twitter (#siggreen) and LinkedIn to keep in touch
Please join in sessions that suit your time-zone http://siggreen.wikispaces.com/Virtual+Workshop+Schedule
You are all welcome to contribute to as many sessions as you want and we encourage you to invite other colleagues and students as well.

We suggest that you register or try out the links to the sessions you plan to attend before they are scheduled. Please get back to me if you have any questions or suggestions. I am often on Skype if you want to talk (helen.hasan).
