Research and Teaching at the highest international level, consistent quality
management, international focus and distinctive practical orientation
constitute the central points of the philosophy of the Business School at
the University of Mannheim.

The Center for Doctoral Studies in Business (CDSB) represents the
postgraduate training pillar of the Business School of University of
Mannheim. It is part of the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences
(GESS) founded in 2006. The graduate school provides doctoral training in
empirical and quantitative methods and their application to business,
economics, and the social sciences. It is funded by the “Excellence
Initiative”, an initiative by the German federal and state governments to
promote top-level research in Germany.

As part of the doctoral program “Operations & Information Systems” at CDSB
we offer a dedicated IS specialization track. Admission to the doctoral
program takes place on an annual basis for the programs starting in
September of the respective year. Applications handed in before February 15
will be treated as early applications and decided on before the official
deadline which is April 15. Applications from candidates, who are not
accepted in the early application round, will be reviewed again with all
other applications after April 15. All students admitted to the program are
offered financial support.
