Non-Tenure Stream, Open Rank Position in Supply Chain Management



The Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business seeks applications for an anticipate non-tenure stream, open rank position in Supply Chain Management beginning Fall 2012 (subject to budgetary approval).  The successful candidate will not only have extensive experience in traditional supply chain management concepts and technologies, but will appreciate the ongoing, deep and broad changes in the corporate environment that make value chain management more relevant in today's competitive global environment.



Experience in leading the implementation of supply chain management technologies such as Material Requirements/Resources Planning (MRP/MRP II), Distribution Resources Planning (DRP), Just In Time (JIT), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Trading Partner Integration, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), is preferred. Moreover, beyond implementation experience, the ideal candidate will understand the organizational and environmental contexts in which firms seek to manage, adapt and innovate in their supply chains.



The candidate will be responsible for developing supply chain courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in topics such as purchasing/procurement, logistics, electronic data interchange, inter-organizational system implementation, distribution networks, manufacturing planning and inventory control, and electronic commerce.  Further, the successful candidate will develop and enhance Katz's relationship with industry partners in supply chain and value chain management.  This will include developing opportunities and supervising students in industry and research projects.  Training and/or knowledge in Six Sigma processes, MRP/ERP/CRM technologies, and/or related certification procedures will be considered a plus.  Relevant professional certifications from organizations such as APICS, ISM, or IAOP are desired.  The University

of Pittsburgh is a member of the SAP University Alliance and the Supply Chain Council.



While research is not a primary focus of this appointment, successful candidates will have a PhD and will show evidence of interest and ability to publish.
