Assistant Professor-Information Technology

Department of Information Technology and Business Education

The Department of Information Technology and Business Education in the
College of Business and Economics at the University of
Wisconsin-Whitewater is anticipating a full-time tenure track faculty
opening starting Fall 2012, contingent on budgetary approval. The
hired candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the
Information Technology and Information Systems areas. The candidate
should have the ability and desire to teach a combination of the
following topics: Enterprise Architecture, Business Process
Management, Enterprise Systems, Networking and Security, Business
Intelligence, Business Analysis, IT in Healthcare, System Analysis,
Database Management and other Information Systems courses. Successful
candidates must demonstrate their potential to be outstanding
teachers, productive researchers and active contributors of
professional, university, and community service. Promotion will be
based on a balanced commitment to teaching, research and service.
Opportunities for reduced teaching load, summer support, online
teaching, and travel support exist; grant writing will also be
rewarded.

Our Information Technology and Management Computer Systems programs
are business-focused information technology degree programs. Faculty
in our programs are actively involved in initiatives related to
entrepreneurship, internationalization, sustainability, enterprise
systems, and emerging technologies. The Management Computer Systems
program has been rated the Number One Four Year Computing Degree in
North America by the Association of Information Technology
Professionals. The programs serve a diverse population of students and
embrace the principles and practices of Inclusive Excellence that are
reflected in UW System’s commitment to diversity and educational
opportunity.

The UWW College of Business moved into Hyland Hall in the Fall of
2009, a new state-of-the-art facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Doctorate in Information Systems or a related field. ABDs,
who will have a doctorate at the time of appointment, will be
considered.
Preferred: IS-related teaching or business experience; an active
research agenda
