Position Summary:
The University of Arizona, Department of Management Information Systems is recruiting for tenure-track faculty for the 2012/2013 academic year.  Rank is at the Assistant Professor level.
The Management Information Systems Department is housed within the Eller College of Management.  The department is seeking individuals who are able to work with diverse students and colleagues, and who have experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.  A commitment to effective teaching and quality research is essential.
From pioneering one of the early MIS programs 3-decades ago in 1974 and championing the development of an IS Curriculum in partnership with Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), the faculty members in the MIS Department at the Eller College of Management, The University of Arizona have been at the forefront of IS education and research.
With over $80 million in research grants and other state and industry support, our program has initiated and participated in cutting edge research in many fields (e.g. group systems, artificial intelligence, and data management among others) while educating over 3500 undergraduate, 1200 graduate and 150 doctoral students. US News and World Report has ranked the UA MIS program among the top 5 in the nation, not once but for 20 consecutive years.
The University of Arizona is a Carnegie I Research Institution, attracting top scholars and talented students as well as over $350 million in external research funding per year. The National Science Foundation ranks the University of Arizona 22nd among all universities and 13th among public universities for research and development expenditures. The University has approximately 35,000 students, 20 percent of which are in graduate and postgraduate professional programs. The UA has highly-ranked departments in several related disciplines, including psychology, sociology, anthropology, and entrepreneurship among others. Located in the heart of Tucson, the campus is surrounded by mountains and exotic Sonoran, in an area that enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine per year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The MIS Department is seeking colleagues who will actively contribute to the intellectual environment in our department through research, teaching, and service.
Minimum Qualifications:

 *   Hold a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems or related field.
 *   High quality teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
 *   Strong research skills and commitment to quality education.
 *   Demonstrated ability to publish in respected per-reviewed academic journals.
