The School of Business and Management at the American University of
Sharjah invites applications for either a permanent or a one-year visiting
professor position at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank.
Applicants should possess a doctorate degree in Decision Sciences,
Management Science, or MIS.  The selected candidate is expected to teach
undergraduate and graduate courses, primarily in statistics, management
science, and decision science.  The selected candidate will also be
expected to participate in departmental activities and conduct research.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with degrees from
western-style universities. Teaching experience in an American model of
higher education, and work experience in North America or Western Europe
is highly desirable.  

 

The School of Business and Management at the American University of
Sharjah is an AACSB-accredited school with six departments and
approximately 1,400 students.  The MIS department is interdisciplinary and
offers courses in Operations, Quantitative Analysis, and MIS.  Faculty
members in this department publish in top journals, including Decision
Sciences, IEEE Transactions, MISQ, ISR, JMIS, JAIS, JSIS and many others.

 

The American University of Sharjah (AUS) is a private, independent,
coeducational university in the United Arab Emirates.  AUS has
approximately 5,500 students across its four colleges and schools:  the
College of Architecture, Art, and Design, the College of Arts and
Sciences, the College of Engineering, and the School of Business and
Management.  The University is located in Sharjah, a city of 800,000
people that is part of a larger metropolitan area of approximately 3
million that encompasses Dubai, Sharjah, and outlying communities.  The
city is a major international hub for trade, transport, and tourism,
offering many opportunities for industry-related research.
