Doctoral Studentship: E-Government and Public Sector Transformation

Brunel University - Business School

Brunel Business School provides a research intensive and forward-looking environment to educate managers in meeting the needs of contemporary complex organisations. As a result of our success in the last national Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) and as part of our strategic investment towards the next national research evaluation (REF), we are offering one PhD studentship (for UK/EU students only) that present a range of opportunities for committed, intelligent and enthusiastic individuals wishing to pursue doctoral research. The School's PhD programme is accredited by EDAMBA.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates from the UK or other EU countries for

Research Studentship in the area of 'public sector transformation challenges in the 21st century'

Start date:  1st March 2012

You will have at least a 2.1 class bachelor's degree, ideally possess a Masters degree in a relevant discipline, and be proficient in English to at least IELTS 6.5 level. The terms of the bursary are the full payment of Home/EU fees for a maximum of three years, and £13,590 per year, subject to annual review and satisfactory progress. You will be required to engage in teaching activities including preparation, marking time and invigilation for up to 150 hours per academic year, as part of the university's graduate teaching assistants' (GTA) programme, for which training will be provided. The appointed candidate will be supervised by a team of experts in the field of public sector research, but expected to work independently and demonstrate scholarly work through publications in peer reviewed journals and conferences through the duration of the appointment.

5. Two reference letters (one must be academic) - They must be on headed paper and signed.

6. Statement of Purpose (why do they wish to do a PhD)
