Department of Accounting and Information Management
Lecturer in Information Management

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Accounting and Information Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is seeking qualified applicants for a non-tenure-track lecturer position in Information Management for the academic year beginning August 2012. Lecturers are typically Ph.D. qualified and teach six sections per year with additional service responsibilities, similar to a clinical assistant professor position in many universities. The position is renewable annually and has a promotion track from lecturer, to senior lecturer, to distinguished lecturer. Preferably, applicants will hold a Ph.D. in MIS or a closely-related field and will show a strong record or promise of excellent achievement in teaching.

Applicants should have a teaching interest in information management concepts at the undergraduate level including business process analysis, database management, systems programming, and enterprise systems. Practical experience in these areas and knowledge of their intersection with other business areas will be highly valued. While teaching is the primary focus of this position, ongoing scholarship is encouraged.

To ensure consideration, applications should be received by March 15, 2012. However, the search will continue until the position is filled. Interested applicants are encouraged to send, in electronic form, a cover letter, vita, courses taught and course evaluations, and contact information for three references to:
