Brooklyn Atlantis is an NSF-funded project in which we design and
implement peer production systems consisting of socially interacting
volunteers and underwater robots that jointly perform distributed
tasks.

The project focuses on cyber-enabled citizen science environmental
monitoring and control, and involves the integration of dynamical
systems theory, marine robotics, and technology-mediated social
participation.

We are looking for PhD applicants with experience in one or more of
the following areas: social media, human-robot interactions,
human-computer interaction, dynamical systems.

Application review starts on March 20, 2012 and will continue until
position is filled. Applications should include a CV and a list of
two/three references. Positions are expected to start in Fall 2012.
Applications should be directed to either Oded Nov (onov at poly.edu) or
Maurizio Porfiri (mporfiri at poly.edu) depending on area of expertise.
