The Department of Management and Information Sciences at the University of Southern Indiana (USI) seeks to fill a nine-month one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Computer Science starting August, 2012. The department will conduct a search for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Computer Science in the 2012 - 2013 academic year. The candidate for the visiting assistant professor position may apply for the full-time tenure-track position. Candidates for the Visiting Assistant Professor position shall preferably have earned a Ph.D. in computer science; however, ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates, possess outstanding research credentials, and provide service to the department, college, university, and the community, particularly in a form of economic development. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications in conformance with University of Southern Indiana policies. The teaching load will be six courses per academic year.

We invite applications at all levels in all areas of computer science with particular interest in operating systems, networking and security, and software engineering. However, exceptional candidates in all areas will be seriously considered.

The Department of Management and Information Sciences is home to approximately 10 Computer Science and Computer Information Systems faculty members and over 200 undergraduate students who together span a range of experience and research areas in computer science and computer information systems. Housed in the USI College of Business, Department of Management and Information Sciences is uniquely situated to offer students exposure to broad computing issues as well as practical business practices.
