(Apologies for Cross-Posting)

Dear Colleagues,
Hello! I am serving as a co-chair of the "Cloud Service Science and Systems" Minitrack in the Decision Analytics, Mobile Services and Service Science of the upcoming 46th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) (http://www.hicss.hawaii.edu/hicss_46/CloudServicesDT.pdf). My co-chair and I are writing to internationally renowned scholars such as you with expertise in various areas of service science, service oriented, on-demand, cloud, utility or proactive computing in hopes that you will consider submitting a paper to our minitrack. We have already received a great deal of interest, and your contributions would help us improve the quality of the sessions. The deadline for submitting papers to HICSS-46 is coming closer: June 15, 2012. The topic of this minitrack is in an emerging research need, and there are many areas of interest that are related to the general topic. Please consider submitting your work if it is related to any of the specific topics listed and/or if you feel it addresses visions of the future of service oriented computing, science, systems and cloud computing. We encourage you to think "out of the box" for this track, and we expect a range of concepts, tools, methods, philosophies and theories to be discussed. We thank you, in advance, for your valuable contribution to HICSS-46. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information. I look forward to receiving your submission!

Best Regards,
Haluk Demirkan - haluk.demirkan at asu.edu

HICSS-46 CALL FOR PAPERS
Grand Wailea Maui, January 7-10, 2013 (Monday-Thursday) Additional detail may be found on HICSS primary web site: http://www.hicss.hawaii.edu/hicss_46/apahome46.htm

The sourcing of IT services needs to be aligned in a manner that takes cost advantage of the commoditization of hardware (e.g., on-demand, utility computing, cloud computing, software oriented infrastructure with virtualized resources, infrastructure service providers), software (e.g. the software-as-service model, software oriented architecture, application service providers), and even business processes (e.g. out-tasking, ITIL, SCOR) in order for organizations to achieve agility. The foundations for Cloud Service Science and Systems are rooted in current applications of service oriented architecture (SOA), Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS), Software as a service (SaaS), business process and workflow, computing resource virtualization, business semantics, service level agreements, increasing standardization, end-to-end enterprise integration and other areas of applied and theoretical research. The purpose of this mini-track is to investigate this paradigm, review the impact of services on federations of enterprises, organizational structures and individuals; investigate its tenets and evaluate relevant management and technical approaches to architecture, infrastructure, business processes, workflows and strategy.
