Lecturer Position in Information Systems

The Decision, Operations & Information Technologies (DO&IT) Department at
the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business invites
applications for a full-time non-tenure-track lecturer position in
Information Systems starting Fall 2012. We are seeking candidates with a
strong commitment to high-quality teaching at undergraduate, MS, and MBA
levels. The position is expected to (a) teach 18 to 21 credits per academic
year and (b) provide significant leadership and service to the department
and to the Smith School.

Applicants must have a PhD in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a
closely related field and an excellent record of teaching.  We are
primarily interested in candidates who have experience in teaching
technical business courses such as database management, programming
language, and e-commerce applications, and who can teach such courses with
rigor to business students.

Applicants must apply online by sending their application to the Search
Committee at IS-TTF-Search at rhsmith.umd.edu.  Applications should include a
letter of interest, CV, evidence of teaching performance in technical
subjects such as programming and database management, and three letters of
reference.  Review of applications will start on June 20, 2012 and will
continue until the position is filled.
