[AISWorld] Cfp: Pacific Telecommunications Council conference, Jan 20-23, 2013.

The following announcement is being brought to you on behalf of the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC).

The proposal deadline for scholarly papers and panels/sessions for PTC'13, the theme of which is Capacity, Capability, Collaboration, is July 9, 2012.

The Conference itself will be held January 20-23, 2013 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Suggested topics include:

 *   Can Carriers Learn to Stop Worrying and Love OTT ("Over the Top" voice and video services)
 *   Global Wholesale Meets Retail
 *   Voice (Re)Evolution
 *   New Economy, New Players, New Business Strategies
 *   Carriers, Competition and the Cloud
 *   Big Data, Big Bandwidth, Big Opportunity
 *   Mobile
 *   New Developments, New Structures in Submarine Cables
 *   Policy and Regulations
As in past years, two research paper prizes will be awarded for excellence in research.

The O.S. Braunstein Prize for the best student-authored research paper includes $500 in cash, conference registration, and up to $1,500 to cover travel and accomodation expenses to attend and present at PTC'13. The deadline for complete student paper submissions is Sept. 5, 2012.

The Meheroo Jussawalla Award is given to the Conference participant authoring the best overall research paper. This prize includes a $1,000 cash award, conference registration and up to $1500 to cover travel and accomodation expenses to attend and present at PTC'13. The deadline for submitting full research papers is September 24, 2012.

A selection of the best papers will be considered for inclusion in a special issue of the journal Telecommunications Policy.
