[AISWorld] (Reminder) OCIS Junior Faculty Consortium, at AOM Boston in August

We have a great group of junior scholars and senior mentors coming together
for this event.  Please join us in Boston on Aug 3, 2012!

The Organizational Communication and InformationSystems (OCIS) Junior
Faculty Consortium, will be held in conjunction with the 2012
Academy of Management Conference in Boston.

Where:  Academy of Management Conference, Boston MA
When:   Friday, August 3, 8:30 am – 4:00 p.m. (optional evening dinner)
Who:     All untenured faculty members or post-docs in OCIS-related fields
(Communications, Information Systems, i-School)

The OCIS Junior Faculty Consortium is a daylong professional-development
workshop open to junior faculty member and post-docs in
OCIS-related areas.  Attendees will have the opportunity to talk in small group
settings about research and teaching challenges and managing an
academic career with senior faculty mentors. The mentors (below) have extensive
experience as faculty members, authors and journal editors and
with grant-funded research and service to the professional community.

Following the consortium on Aug 4 and 5 are a variety of professional
development workshops, and Aug 6-7 the Scholarly Academic Program.


Attendees must register for the Academy of Management Conference. There is
no additional cost for the consortium but you must pre-register with me (Liz
Davidson, OCIS Division-Chair elect) at ocisdavidson at gmail.com.
 Confirmation of registration and dtails on how to prepare (it’s easy!) and
what to expect (it’s fun and useful!) will be emailed to you.

OCIS Junior Faculty Consortium 2012 mentors:

Cynthia Beath:  Cynthia is Professor Emeritus at the McCombs School of
Business,
University of Texas at Austin.

Mike Chiasson:  Mike is Professor of Management Science at the Lancaster
University
Management School.

Paul Hart:  Paul is Professor and Associate Dean at Florida Atlantic
University College
of Business.

Lynne Markus:  Lynne is Professor of Information and Process Management at
Bentley
University.

Ann Majchrzak:  Ann is Professor of Information and Operations Management
at the University
of Southern California Marshall School of Business.


Mike Morris: Mike is the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Professor
of
Commerce at the McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia.

Liz Davidson (consortium organizer): Liz is a Professor and Department
Chair of Information Technology
Management at University of Hawaii.
