[AISWorld] IFIP WG8.6 CALL FOR PAPERS : Grand Successes and Failures in IT, Bangalore, June, 2013‏

Dear IS Colleague,
 
This is to provide advance notification of the forthcoming conference of IFIP Working Group 8.6 to be held at the Indian Institute of Management (IIMB), Bangalore, 27th-29th June 2013. 
 
WG8.6 was established by IFIP in 1994 as a working group concerned with diffusion, transfer & implementation of information technology. 
 
The theme of the forthcoming conference is: GRAND SUCCESSES AND FAILURES IN IT: PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTORS






 
Despite decades of research, the failure rate of information systems initiatives continues unabated. Why is this so? Is the fault one of theory and inadequate understanding? Or is the problem one of knowledge transfer, the failure to embed research knowledge in the working practices of managers and policy-makers. The aim of this conference is to move forward our understanding of technology-based innovation and the factors influencing the uptake of research knowledge in the practitioner community. 


CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
 
The General Chair is David Wastell (Nottingham University, UK), with Yogesh Dwivedi (Swansea University, UK) and Helle Zinner Henriksen (Copenhagen Business School, Denmark) as Program Co-Chairs. Rahul De (IIMB) is the Organizing Chair.

KEY DEADLINE: Papers should be submitted by 5th November, 2012
