The University of Oulu has an opening for one faculty position at the level of Full Professor in Information Systems (IS). The position is located at the Department of Information Processing Science, Faculty of Science.  

The information systems (IS) scholars of the department are ranked highly in terms of research productivity among European universities. For example, in the Top-100 Rankings of Schools (2009-2011, MISQ and ISR), the department was ranked as the 41st best IS school. Faculty members of the department have published their research in leading Information Systems journals, such as MIS Quarterly, Information System Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, and others. Faculty members hold editorial positions in reputable IS journals. 

The Department of Information Processing Science has a long tradition in industry and international collaboration in the areas of information systems and software engineering.  The department provides courses leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Licentiate of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy. In 2011, 62 Bachelor’s degrees, 98 Master’s degrees and 10 Doctoral degrees were awarded. The department also runs international Master’s Degree Program (GS3D), where the annual intake of students is limited to 50. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The professor is expected to actively participate and advance the department’s research in the area of information systems (IS). In addition to conducting research of high international quality, the professor is expected to participate in the Department’s teaching in the IS research area.

The required qualifications for the professor position include a doctoral degree, high quality scientific or artistic competence, experience in supervising scientific research, the ability to give high quality education based on research and to supervise final theses, as well as evidence of international collaboration in his or her field of research.

SALARY
The salary is paid for 12 months in a year being in practice roughly 70 000–97 000 € per year, depending on the appointee’s qualification and experience. Employee is entitled to annual incentive bonuses paid on the basis of approved reward systems and profit center specific awarding criteria in the University of Oulu. Additionally, the employee is entitled to health care benefits.
