Dear Colleagues:

As you plan your travel for AMCIS 2012 please check out the exciting events
in Business Intelligence sponsored by Teradata University Network (TUN).

*1. AMCIS 2012 Workshop: Big Data*
*Presenters*: Hugh J. Watson, University of Georgia and Ramesh Sharda,
Oklahoma State University
*When*: Thursday, August 9th from 8:30am-1:00pm

This workshop explores issues related to the management of big data sets
which are beyond the capabilities of commonly used corporate software. New
methodologies, technologies and strategies are needed to capture, manage
and process big data. Big data sets require a new set of database
structures, statistical analysis tools, and visualization applications.

*2. Teradata University Network - BI Reception*
*When*: Friday, August 10th, from 7 pm – 9 pm

Teradata University Network (TUN) is a free resource for faculty and
students focused on analytics, business intelligence, data mining, big
data, and related topics. The network allows students and faculty to gain
hands-on experience. TUN is led by a board of IS academics focused on
sharing teaching tools and improving the resources available to faculty to
students worldwide. This reception is a networking event to allow AMCIS
attendees interested in these topics interact, learn about TUN, get
examples of new resources, and meet some of the TUN academic board members.
