Call for Papers - 13th Australian Information Warfare Conference

3-5 December 2012, Perth, Western Australia

The aim of the 13th Australian Information Warfare Conference (IWAR 2012) is
to inform participants on research and practice in traditional, contemporary
and future evolutions of information warfare. Information warfare is
becoming an increasingly diverse discipline that exists within a constantly
changing social environment.

With shifts in the usage and types of information available, there has been
a steady move towards corporate and personal awareness of the information
warfare space.

This year's theme is "Information Warfare: evolving threats in the modern
world" in recognition of the increased publicity of government sanctioned
cyber tactics and more personalised attacks utilising social media sources.
The highly publicised Stuxnet and Flame worms are a potential foreshadowing
of an escalated threat. Recent revelations of the origin of these threats
clearly show that cyber systems are firmly entrenched as the new
battlefield.

Papers are invited in the following areas, but not limited to:

- Information operations theory and practice;

- Psychological operations;

- Critical infrastructure protection and vulnerability;

- Application of information warfare in contemporary and non-military
environments;

- Use of social media for influence operations.

- Case studies in application of information warfare.

All submitted papers will be double blind peer reviewed.

The 13th Australian Information Warfare Conference is held as part of SecAU
Security Congress:
