The Global Text Project  <http://globaltext.org>  announces the release of "Data Mining for the Masses" by Matthew North of Washington and Jefferson College.

As with other Global Text Project  books, it is freely released under a Creative Commons license.

This book is an introduction to concepts and practices common in data mining. This book is intended primarily for undergraduate college students and for business professionals who may be interested in using information systems and technologies to solve business problems by mining data, but who likely do not have a formal background or education in computer science.
